On May 25, 2007, New City School Co-Founder and Co-Director Ted Hamory was interviewed by Farai Chideya on her NPR program “News and Notes.” Ted was joined by Jennifer Stern of the Charter School Growth Fund. In addition to discussing the Growth Fund’s recent $1.4 million expansion grant to NCS, Ted and Jennifer also talked about charter schools and education issues on both a local and a national scale. The New City School Receives $1.4M Expansion Grant

The New City School (NCS) is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $1.4 million expansion grant from the Charter School Growth Fund (CSGF)! On May 24, 2007, CSGF partners Jennifer Stern and Ben Lindquist visited NCS and formally presented a check to Ted Hamory, NCS Co-Founder and Co-Director. This multi-year expansion grant will help fund the opening of more New City School campuses and the creation of a charter management organization (CMO) known as New City Public Schools.
